An Exceptional Tray and Superb Candlesticks
This exceptionally large, heavy tray was made by Johannes Schiotling in Amsterdam in 1770, and is one of the most lavishly executed examples of Louis XV style in the Netherlands. The pair of very intricately ornamented wholly cast candlesticks was made by Hans Rinckens in Amsterdam 1756. These candlesticks, too, are extremely elaborately decorated entirely in Louis XV style, quite unlike prevailing Dutch taste.
