This silver miniature oil lamp was made in Amsterdam in 1795 by Hendrik Duller. It has tongs and a snuffer on a chain attached to the lamp.
In the time it was made, miniatures were very popular. The demand for silver miniatures in Amsterdam was so high that generations of silversmiths specialized in making them. A great many top quality pieces were crafted, but this oil lamp with tongs and snuffer is a very rare piece.
