An 18-carat yellow gold Art Nouveau buckle with a stylised iris, made by Van den Eersten & Hofmeijer in Amsterdam between 1900 and 1905.
Hallmarked with master mark E7H in oblique angled rectangle for Van den Eersten & Hofmeijer.
An almost identical gold belt buckle, by the same master and from the same period is in the Collection of the Hessisches Landesmuseum in Darmstadt.
