Cartier Flower Cart Clipbrooch

It's summertime!

This 18-carat golden flower cart with parasol by Cartier immediately gives you a summer feeling. The flowers are made of cabochon cut corals and turquoises and are adorned with brilliant cut diamonds. Made in Paris in the 1960's.

The Cartier jeweller's house was a true family business until 1964. The firm was founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, who took over the workshop on Rue Montorgueil in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris from his teacher and jeweller Adolphe Picard.

After a few years, he opened his first shop in Rue-Neuve-des Petit-Champs, but soon moved to the Boulevard des Italiens. He trained his son Alfred in the business, which took over in 1874. Alfred moved the business in 1899 to the chic Rue de la Paix, the centre of Parisian fashion and luxury industry. Cartier is still based at this same address.
